Bēthovena 9. simfonijas noslēguma daļa un Šillera “Oda priekam” ir ES “himna”. Sākotnēji to izmantoja Eiropas Padome (Council of Europe) kopā ar karogu, kurā ir aplis ar zvaigznēm uz zila fona.
